No. Join My Card profiles open in any modern mobile browser — Safari, Chrome, Samsung Internet, etc. Recipients tap Save Contact to download a standard vCard (.vcf) file. There is no Join My Card app required for the person receiving your card.
At claim, you upload a portrait photo. Client-side background removal splits your image into a foreground cutout (pop layer) and a clean background plate. The card renderer applies holographic shaders, gyro-driven tilt on mobile, and depth so your card feels physical on screen. Flip the card to see QR, share actions, and save contact. Pro cards include an NFC tag encoded with a secure URL (joinmycard.com/t/{ID}-{key}). When a recipient holds their phone near your card, the profile opens automatically on supported devices — same holographic experience as QR scan.
